Hello I’m Kay!
My Journey to becoming a therapist.
In 2003 I began my career working for a charity that helps people who suffer with their mental health. It was there I learned that having a mental health issue can impact so much on people’s lives, and how quickly we can all develop problems with our own mental health. Whether it be depression or particular anxieties, that often go hand in hand, I saw how this affected people in their day to day life, some since childhood, or after a particular trauma. Some were suffering with serious mental health issues.
I worked closely with people of all ages, some were vulnerable and had learning disabilities, autism, including Aspergers Syndrome, and challenging behaviours. I attained a degree level qualification in Social Care and became a coach and mentor.
I became interested in various forms of alternative therapies, ones that could be so effective that they changed people’s lives!
Having then qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and later as an Integral Eye Movement Therapy Practitioner (IEMT) and Brain Working Recursive Therapy Practitioner (BWRT), I started to realise that these therapies were changing lives in a short space of time. Some of my clients had been seeing counsellors and other talking therapists over a long period of time with little effect and all they wanted was to JUST CHANGE.
I now consider myself privileged and humbled to be able to use these skills to help you with varying emotional problems and show you that life can be so much more positive. I am continuing to learn and develop new ways and styles of working so I can bring about change as fast as possible.
I live with my partner and two cats (they think they are therapy cats as they always try and get in on the action!) My eldest son is a Sport Coach and my youngest is at University. I enjoy walking and yoga and most of all FOOD! Any food really!
