Hello I’m Kay!

My first experience of hypnosis was when I used it myself for Insomnia.  I had such amazing results that I knew I had to find out more about it.  How could someone just talk to you and make such a difference?

A few years went by and I continued in my day job, working closely with people of all ages, with learning disabilities, autism, including Aspergers Syndrome, mental health issues and challenging behaviours.  I attained a degree level qualification in social care and trained in coaching and mentoring.

I have always worked in a person-centred way and studied other therapies and interventions such as Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and a form of quick Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, all of which have been used to help others achieve their goals.

I saw an advertisement to train as a Hypnotherapist and something told me to go ahead and do it.  I am now a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist  and have helped  many people overcome their issues, in my own therapy room, and in the community.  I even eliminated my friend’s back pain in 20 minutes whilst in the pub!  (Not usually where I carry out my work!)  She is still free of back pain to this day.

At first I felt like a kind of wizard, as though I had a special power!  Then I understood that it is not me that makes the changes, it’s the client’s own unique subconscious mind, with me as the facilitator.

Whilst qualifying I researched other alternative therapies such as Faster EFT and Mindscaping and have developed my own style of working.  I am continuing to learn new ways of working to bring you the best therapy experience.  I am still fascinated  that someone’s words can change a person’s perspective on life and make positive change.

I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS check to work with vulnerable adults and children.
